Lets see your aftermarket seats!

Hey guys, just wanted to see what people are running for seats. Been thinking about this for a while as its a good way to get rid of some weight , but still not too sure considering its a daily driver. I was recommended some Recaro sports or speeds and since there haven't been any unified seat threads in a while, lets see what people are doing!

BRIDE Euro II:
I am 6'4" about 200lbs and fit similar to stock seats. They offer no extra head room but do provide better shoulder support/waist support. Only advantage I see using these over stock is you can use a 4 point harness with these safely. Though if you are really putting in a harness of that level I would suggest a bucket seat or a Bride low max.

They are not my seats, they are in one of the Baker Tuning cars.
I did get to sit in them a few times and the thigh area is about the same maybe a little tighter but the shoulder/waist area feels a bit more secure.

If you post pics can you also post the specs of the seat like waist width, if it is higher/lower then stock, etc.... any and all info would be appreciated.

Thank you!

They are nice and what I contemplating. What did they do about the airbag warning light? Does it function properly?

You add a relay I believe which makes it function as normal.
Even if you do not add the relay the airbag for the steering wheel works you just have a light on in the dash. On the passenger side, not with the Euro but with other seats you can add the plate which has the weight function for the on/off.

RCZ 04-04-2011 04:33 PM

Hey, those EURO II's look nice. I got a better pic here:

http://image.nengun.com/catalogue/or...de-euro_ii.gif

$750 a piece though :(

InUrDreamZ 04-04-2011 05:47 PM

Sounds like you need my Brides...

theDreamer 04-04-2011 08:46 PM

750USD is cheap for BRIDE seats though, some of the bucket seats are 800+ and the low max series and 1200+
Status seats look great, any fitment issues Reaper with closing the door anything?

Yea, they are the GT version, which have wider shoulder span for "americans". So they do hit the door when closing, the material in the door is soft tho, so it makes a little indent into the door, but I have had them for a year, and NO wear or tear on the actual leather of the seat where it is touching. Infact this seat has held up VERY well, still looks brand new. I will try and take some new pics with a better camera sometime soon. I did have some issues dealing with the rep over at STATUS, (not everyone can be as awesome as Tony@ Fast Intentions) so if your willing to deal with that then these seats are an AWESOME buy. If you are over 6' , 230 lbs tho, these seats are not for you. Im sure if the floor brackets were better made, and you have them professionally installed by a dealer who deals with STATUS, then you will prob have better fitment into the car. Price wise, for the seat, floor brackets, sliders, and 5 point harness, plus shipping, your looking at paying just shy of $2000 a seat, which is actually cheaper than buying most Brides. The BEST part about buying for STATUS is the personal customization, first you pick between a FRP, Kevlar, or Carbon Fiber shell, which all differ about $100 in price, and then from there you have complete customization of your seat with no extra charge. You pick whether you want it in leather, alcantara, or cloth, the seat inserts you can pick in either of the three, seperate from the rest of the seat, they have hundreds of colors to choose from, and then you get to pick the color of the stiching, as well as the color of the status emblem embroidary, and in leather you can have the logo punched into the leather for a more subtle stealthy look. I highly recommend these seats. :tiphat:

The only aftermarket seats I want should have electronic adjustment.

most of the ones I saw are manual.

wish my father would finally decide to get the GT-R V-spec seats so I try fitting the stock GT-R seats in the Z.

Updated the Euro II post:
I am 6'4" about 200lbs and fit similar to stock seats. They offer no extra head room but do provide better shoulder support/upper waist support. Only advantage I see using these over stock is you can use a 4 point harness with these safely. Though if you are really putting in a harness of that level I would suggest a bucket seat or a Bride low max. Other use I could see for these is if you want your passenger to have a 'close to matching' Bride seat with your bucket seat but not sacrifice comfort.

6'3 205 lbs, athletic frame around 8% body fat. They fit me perfectly, my friend who is 6'7 and 240 couldnt really fit in them but because of his hips not overall size.

If you have any other questions lmk!

That kind of defeats the purpose of most aftermarket seats.

Makes me feel a little better, I have 6'4" a little over 200lbs but I have moved some muscle from the proper areas to the waist which is not muscle.

lol i dont think youd have a problem, im a 32 waist btw, the seats fit pretty snug but i assume i 34-36 would fit without discomfort.

I have sat in one, not bolted into a 370z yet, and it was snug but not killer. Also, from what I am told the side bolsters will stretch out a little to give a little extra room.

lol there not too bad with the fiberglass backing, its when you get into the CF and carbon kevlar backing that it gets to be alittle ridiculous lol.
