Blurgh..the vise grips that I have are too small..and no other wrench could get a secure enough grip. I had no idea the shaft was going to be as large a diameter as it is.

Going to have to drop by the hardware store tomorrow and get a new pair of vise grips, as recommended.

Haha, I used my channel-locks with rubber tip to hold the shaft.

GL with the install!

So putting the duct tape on the knob worked (Thanks FromG2Z ) but not how I imagined. Kenchan thanks also!

Wrapped the knob up in duct tape but it didn't really budge. Took the tape off and now the knob was sticky. Used one of my Terry cloths on the knob..strap wrench and OMG....it started to turn.

Camera is kinda crappy and too much flash, it looks much better in person...matches well in the interior. The feel is soooo different, but I think I like it...will drive to work tomorrow.

why is Nissan Predjudiced towards America... I was like wtf, 40th with nav? Oh yea, In canada they can get that...

Knob looks great... I am undecided between this one, the password JDM, or that tommy kairra (or whatever its called) knob. that was is super heavy and felt it on a 350z and loved it

The Tommy Kaira is the best if you are a palm shifter, if you are a shaft shifter...sounds horrible...this is probably the better knob for you

haha jk ... that does make sense... Shifting aggressively I think most would use the SHAFT style but 95% of the time driving around I just toss it into gear using my palm but your theory does make sense..

another knob is the TWM type R knob thats somewhere inte middle of all of these, also heavy, big type R being heavier than regular type R but its also a bit pricey...

FromG2Z- i use the TWM typeR knob on my G. it's a nice piece.

for the Z's gearbox i think either shifter works (slim or round types). for the G gearbox it's quite a bit clunkier to get into the gates at times so weighted and round works better for me on that car.

Hmm, you know.. I never even thought about this. I tend to palm shift. Hope I like this knob.

Still unable to get the time to install. It's been raining every day.

My black shift knob came in the mail today along with a GTR Start Button. Before I put it on I've painted the Nismo logo with a red O and light grey for the other letters. The red O should work really well with the GTR Button and my red stitching. I'll post some pics once its installed.
