^ Happy, no issue with turning/spinning... just tighten down real good. Perhaps the existing loctite remaing on the shaft threads from the factory were sufficient

Wat G2Z said. I did not need to use loctite.

no need to use locktite

just use "good-n-tite" torque

The threads of the NISMO Shift Knobs are not metal like other brands. They are actually Nylon, similar to a Nylon Lock-nut. They should be fine and not free spin. It MAY develop this tendency if it is removed multiple times though.

Ugh, I've been soo busy these last couple of days working a side job that is netting me an extra grand.

I'm all like because I want to put them on, but also because the parts look so sweet! They are beckoning to me, but man...I'm sooo wiped out after spending three to four hours crawling about in an attic cabling my wife's office building with five extra data lines yesterday and finishing all the run terminations and patch panel installation today after working for eight hours.

G2z, you will def get rep points, so no worries on that front!

^ hehe... thanks happy

yeah the knob shouldn't take you too long, bro. You could probably do it in 20 min's or less, as long as you aren't breaking straps like Ken does

well i replaced my stock shifter knob today with Black Nismo one.
was a little concerned after reading this thread, and yes i did run into similiar issues.
the stock one just wouldnt turn, so i tried to the duct tape trick.
It worked , but was still very difficult to turn, the leather wrap on stock one started to come off, but managed to save it minus the leather on both sides, leather piece down the middle survived and actually looks ok

new one on and very happy now, love the feel when shifting

(apologies for picture quality, Blackberry camera)

Looking good man!

So explain that last pic to me... the leather around the sides came off? So what's the surface remaining on either side of the stock knob???
