Carbon Air Inducts - installed pictures
Hello,
recently I was asking if anybody has already installed the Dual Carbon Air Inducts from the 350Z - because afaik nobody did that so far (except one Nismo guy) I was eager enough to give it a try today. Here is the result - let me know what you think ! PS: I have installed the STILLEN G3 so thats why you see the piping behind the inducts but there is still a lot of opening for the air to get behind the upper part of the front bumper. For people having a short ram this mod will even be more effective as the air routes directly into the factory intake holes. Chris

How difficult was it to cut the bumper -- what did you use?
This would be a really nice mod for anyone using the OEM airboxes too. Oh, can you confirm that these are the ones for the 350 and not the 370. BTW, nice racing stripe

yep, the air filters of the STILLEN G3 are in the center of the nose - but I had two reasons for not putting the air ducts directly in front of them.
1. it would look very ugly imho to have the ducts so close together in the center 2. I dont want rain or debris directly on the filter so I decided to install the ducts in the place they are intended for - even though you should achieve a good circulation/intake of cold air in this more or less capsuled area. Because the air is pushed inside the area above the front support it should create kind of an ram air induct situation. Chris

along with the ducts you get a stencil - unfortunately only for the drive side but you can simply use it for the passenger side by putting it on in reverse. I used a simple paper cutter to make the outlines on the bumper and then used a bigger cutter to get through the bumper - its not very thick so no problem ! later on I discovered that the stencil is not very accurate in terms of size so I had to modify the opening with the tool you see on the second picture but as a starting point the stencil is not too bad. and yes, this mod would be very nice even for stock air boxes ! I feel very sorry for you - but thanks for the info, that even makes me more satisfied with my decision to not moving the ducts directly in front of the filters.

It was more than just a little water. We had a storm a couple of years ago that put down 6 inches of rain in a few hours. It was at night after spending 12 hours out-of-town cleaning out my parents' house. I didn't see the water and when I did, it was a wall of water that shot straight up and then got sucked into the intake and exhaust and...
