so, if I debadge the car and take off the front and rear emblems, will there be holes in the bumper/trunk lid? or are these flat backed without locating pegs?

No Pegs, but there is a 1/4" depression in the bumper that the emblem sits in.......Classic de-badging is out because of this...You'd need to plastic weld in a filler piece, Finish with a plastic bondo and paint.

Ok, I'm gonna ask a silly question and I'm good at asking silly ones....but why would anyone want to "de-badge" their car?

On the other hand, a nice big 'Z' in the middle of your car, front and rear, has an element of kudos - the Z cars are well respected, so promote the Z and hide the Nissan! I know I'm not alone in this thought. Re-badging is one of the first things I've done to both of my Z's. I also like the idea of a 'clean look - but I can't be bothered with all that time and effort in achieving it. If you can't find a Z badge yet, the idea of sanding and painting the 'burger' is the best one - You don't need to de-chrome it cos it ain't chrome.
