Just hit my front bumper on my Z :(

Hey guys, can you let me know if this is repairable? and if it isn't what would the price range be? i live in the northeast.

The story is when i was getting out of a parking space there was a cement block that the front bumper hit into when i was backing up :(, thanks in advance!

Sorry man, that sucks. Probably just need a new front fascia. That's going to run you a few hundred bucks plus a paint job. Your insurance will pay but you'll have to shoulder the deductible. I'd consider an aftermarket fascia if you have any interest...turn lemons into lemonade.

As long as your fender can still lineup with the bumper and the bolt locations are still intact you can just buy a new/used bumper and call it a day.

If the fender is damaged you will need another one as well.

Check here for either:

How do you hit the front bumper while backing up?

Stanced370Z 03-06-2011 02:46 PM

I would def get a new bumper if I were you. It's cracked. Run it through the insurance and pay the deductible.

He was probably turning while backing up and hit something with the front fascia which snagged it and cracked it.

OP: repairing it will cost more than it is worth and it will most likely never be 100% so I would recommend searching wrecking yards or used car parts companies to see if they have a bumper in stock that is in your color. Bolt off old bumper, bolt on new bumper.

Some washers and nuts bolts will probably enable you to reattach it.

The crack will be hard to fix... if everything lines up, careful application of touch up paint may conceal it to the casual onlooker, otherwise, you will need a new bumper :(
