I think the pictures are really not representing the colour very well. This pic of the colour is closer than the full seat shots. The colour on the left threads is the Black Rose and the threads on the right were purple and below that red.
It is too cold to take the car outside of the garage and the lighting sucks. The colour looks a LOT closer to Black Rose/Cherry in person than with flash photos. I think the silver in the thread still reflects a lot of the light in flash photos. I will take new pics in the spring when I can get the car in the sun. They are predicting at least another two or three weeks of -20C here....

No Problem! To Each their own! Personally I really dislike a coloured car with Carbon fibre body parts slapped on like a jigsaw puzzle...

Did you have any problems doing the door panels and removing any excess dye?

The Alcantra is harder to do because it will absorb the dye, but the Uchida pen is so sharp-tipped that it is easy if you have a steady hand.

whats not to like ? Looks good... especially if the color matches your car... I have nismo seats with red stitcing... i wonder if there is a pen close enough for me to match the red off of that... I would just ask an artistic friend to do it since I am not all that good with pens/markers..

Go to Michaels craft store and get the Uchida pen that matches the Nismo red. They have dozens of colours you can match to.

I used a medium blue on mine (Uchida #3Blue) and it is very subtle. Just what I wanted, makes you look twice. Its hard to see in the dark, but it stands out in the sun
I would recommend starting with the shift boot, its probably the easiest to change if you don't like the outcome. I did the doors and center console after that, along with the knee pads. I've yet to do the seats, probably this weekend. |
