My new shift knob (pics)
Well I installed my new shift knob today. First of all what a pain in the butt to remove. I've never had this much of an issue removing a knob on these cars. They didn't go light on the lock tight. I rip the knob to hell and back. breaking all the trim pieces around the knob. Which I know others had the same issue before. The last turn was just as hard as the first. I couln't believe it. I had the vice grips in good on the shaft so I wasn't worried there. But the channel locks I was turning counter clock wise rip the leather even with a rag double folded within the grip. But I got it done and are happy with it. I did use a rubber wrachet but that was not cutting it at all. It was really on there.
I had this same knob on my 350 and G37. I let it go with my G. So I went and bought another this past weekend. This is a CNC piece bought from Forged Performance. I believe this is there own. But don't hold me to that. I love the feel of this piece. It fits great in my hand. Unlike the big fat factory one. It truly feels as it shift so much better due to the bulkiness of the stock one.

Spohn, what do you want for your old knob?

Nice knob! I had it in my G35. Sold the famous one with the dog poop on it. I bought another one a year later and have had it on my Z since week 1. My stock knob actually looked worse than yours! Haha
