omfg i scrapped Z on a curb

Title says it all. I scrapped the front right bumper and rim on a curb. Do any of you know where I can go to have the rim repaired and bumper fixed? How much should it cost? Does insuranxe cover this usually? Thanks in advance.

Edit I tried getting some photo shots but they don't showw up well on my phone

That all depends on how bad it is, post a picture

What is your deductible, do you have comprehensive insurance? Scraped rim I doubt, unless it is a hazard, the bumper maybe.

I have a $1,000 deductible so I won't bother with insurance lol. I'll get pics soon.

Edit: how do I upload photos from my phone?

Edit: figured it out lol

looks like a 150 dollar job

PHEW!!! Well that's good to hear. you really think it would cost around that much to have the bumper fixed and painted? It scaled off quite a bit of plastic too.

:shakes head: too bad

Supragtsxr 12-27-2010 05:15 AM

It is a shame isn't it? Happened right outside my house. I hate that it happened but I'm glad the damage isn't too bad.

Edit: It is bad, I just took the Z out to go drive it around to make sure nothing was messed up. The alignment is definately messed up. It's quite wobbly over 40mph now *sigh*. I'm going to take it to the shop tommorow to see what's up. I didn't even bump the curb that hard, I'm somewhat suprised all this is happening.

I know the feeling of of doing this. I curb rashed my front pass.wheel a little while ago. (Not as bad as yours but he charges the same regardless) You wont feel the same until its fixed right? I ended up finding out there's usually a wheel guy in the bmw dealership. The experience I had was royalty. There were donuts inside the bathrooms with a flat screen to say the least.. baby wipes nah jk Lol but yea. Not only did they do an amazing job keeping me happy while i waited. The wheel came out perfect. They charged me 130+tax. Maybe you can look into it as well. Good luck

Depending on how hard you hit the curb id be wondering about alignment and potentially bearing damage down the road. I think its going to take 150 to fix the wheel and another 100 or so to get the touchup. Atleast retail. GL!

Wheel lip rebuild in Edmonton runs about $300... but the results are flawless.
That includes the Hyper Silver repaint as well, which is no cheap paint job.

Supragtsxr - if you're near sterling VA, D&V does great work and they're great people too.

D&V Autobody - Automotive Collision Repair, Re-Painting, & Customization - Serving Virginia VA, Maryland MD, & Washington DC

I used them to paint my door handles and I couldn't be happier with the work they did. I know a few others here (2theextreme to name one) have used them for random things as well and I haven't heard any negative comments only positive.

edit: Oh yeah they were very reasonably priced as well thats worth mentioning.

Ahh thanks for the link. I got a new rim from someone selling them off their Z. I should be good once I have the tire installed. I'm gonna see if this place u linked can repair my bumper
