New Z drama
So, my tint installer called me and said that the paint on the hatch was f'd up. I took a look and...I'll let the photo speak for itself. There were two massive runs in the clear coat on the other side as well. I went to the dealer and they're fixing the paint on Wed.

you sure the tint installer didn't have anything to do with it? from the looks of the intersecting finer scratches, it looks as if someone tried to do a horrible buff job. but i could be totally off base...

That could be very obvious when you pick up your "BRAND NEW" car at the dealership, how can you not notice it?

i look at damaged cars for a living and that hatch was either opened into something or something closed onto it. you can see the initial contact area at the top and then you see the line where it stopped. someone tried buffing or sanding that area and did a very poor job. not sure where it happened but this is not a factory paint problem.

probably a botched paint repair from damage during transport considering there were clearcoat runs on the otherside.
it is not unusual for manufacturers to fix minor damages at the port and sell it as new to the dealers...or the dealers fixes them upon delivery to their lot. |
