...is epic, I would love to see something like this. Like others, I am not a huge fan of big body kits, and good lord the 370 is wide enough to begin with, a widebody kit will just cheapen it I fear.

I would like to see them make something unique to Veilside, but also keep everything very OEM looking at the same time. I want to look at it and say "ah yes, this is how it should have come from the factory".

This is my favorite lip for the 350 for reference as well, if the lip could incorporate a center section that goes up over or replaces the fangs I would love it.

I like CTZN's second pic. That is the perfect lip spoiler and if the 370Z had something like that (in carbon fiber) I would decide on it and stick with it.

Mental Block

I'm not sure how well lip kits honestly work on a car like the 370Z. So far, every single lip kit I've seen for this car just comes out being over the top and I think it has something to do with the fangs on the stock bumper as well as the curvatures along the sides of the bumper. IMO it'd be best to just make a full replacement (something clean like Zele).

this is a response from veilside:
I’ve looked at your favorite lip and I must it doesn’t make any sense to me. The corner sections show a dip, which doesn’t seem to match any other line of the car.



I’m not sure what can be done to remove the “fangs” as it’s part of the factory molded bumper. Is the painted section of the “fangs” connected/molded together to the black grill section?

First off, I didn't design the lip, so I can't speak to the purpose of it's lines or shape.

Second, and plainly so, that pic was meant to be an example of the direction I would like to see. I did not imply nor ask for it to be copied. The fact is, it is a simple, clean and beautiful lip solution, easy as that. I would like to see a similarly styled option for the 370.

Third, I am not a product designer or engineer, so I would not even listen to my advice if I gave it. Hence, my posting an example of what I felt worked on the 350Z.

I do happen to be a professional designer, and in my area, the tricky part and the most satisfying part, is figuring out a way to communicate in a beautiful manner, around any obstacle that may present itself. That is the challenge of being a successful designer. In this case, the goal is to find an elegant, simple way to incorporate the desired look and feel into the existing design of the car. This is what makes Veilside, well, Veilside, you have been a leader in the industry for a long time and I would expect nothing less than the highest standard of quality and options.

To come on here and criticize an example I pointed out, is counterproductive at best, and offensive at worst. We, as a community, and myself personally are thrilled to be a part of the process of building a new product, but it has to come to a point where Veilside must take ownership of this and provide us with the level of quality we all have come to expect from you in a product and a company.

Hey, relax ctzn - as a designer you know that discussion with the client is a vital and important part of the process...

1. Listen to the client

2. Discuss with the client

3. Agree with the client

4. Go away and design exactly what you wanted to do in the first place (ignoring the client)

5. Return to the client and convince them it's what they wanted.

I didn't mean to come off as an *** or disrespectful, again I am thrilled that Veilside is involving the community. I was merely suggesting that criticizing other designs might not be the most productive way to results.

I hear you on the process, I won't get into my job details nor delve into my design philosophy. I guess the point I was trying to make is that we are not the designers, we are the clients.

I like the open forum for discussing design direction and I am happy to be a part of that. But I don't want to hear why things won't work, I want to discuss solutions to what we would like to see. I am sure there are plenty of great ideas out there within the community so I hope people speak up, and I hope Veilside can take the feedback and do what they have always done so well, and make a killer product.

I will keep digging up some examples and try to relate their features to the 370 and how I would like to see it. I look forward to the results.

Sorry for the late response, as of now veilside has put aside trhe 370z project to go forth with new kits for lambos and ferraris ...

however i am currently working with Extreme Dimension on a new kit which will include (Front/rear bumper. Front fenders. Side skirts. Hood, Spoiler, Roof spoiler) .. Once everything is done I will show all the progress photos and finals product!!
