Will any spoilers cover the sport spoiler holes??
Hey guys, it's my first post so please be gentle. I just picked up a 2009 touring model. The owner had the sport spoiler installed at the dealer after purchase. I assume the dealership drilled the holes slightly off?? There is a gap on the frontmost part of the spoiler towards the middle of the hatch. Every time I wash my car and open the hatch after, water pours out of the spoiler and runs right into the trunk area. I am wondering if there is a wing ie stillen etc. besides genuine Nismo that will cover the holes. I know the S type wing won't cover the holes and I have used the search feature. Sorry for the long post. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks guys

If the water is running into the holes and the edge of the hole is not visible? try to have it reinstalled and apply clear silicone close to the edge of the spoiler so when you tighten it down it will seal and prevent water from entering into were the holes are on the hatch.
More of a suggestion on a possible fix. Last edited by Trips; 12-02-2010 at 02:14 AM. |

Duct tape ftw.
Seriously now, Have you tried looking on the inside of the leak to see where its coming from inside, that might help give you an idea of how much you need to cover the hole. Is it possible they forgot to put another bolt in and that's why there is a leak?

How sure are you? I thought I've read that even the OEM Nismo spoiler leaves exposed holes from the sport spoiler. I wanted the seibon CF spoiler based on the Nismo but never got it cause the holes issue.

From what I understand the Nismo spoilers (knockoff included) cover them but dont actually use all of the original holes. Its hard to get an answer on this, no one seems to know.

First off. Why would anyone making a rear spoilder for the Z not use the OEM holes of the sport spoiler which is most likely to be what everyone is removing.
Second so I can just plug the existing holes and none can tell that the sport spoiler was there when the nismo spoiler is on?

I hope the S-Tune covers the holes (and doesn't leak) from the sport wing, and i would just have to drill new ones.
