I wonder if you spliced into both... would it work for both... Or would that be overkill???

I'm pretty sure this is what you guys are trying to do. I think Jay said on the original thread that this would cause the brake light to appear brighter if the flashing mode was also activated (by the reverse lights in this case).

Hey ProfessorDave .. do you know if that was confirmed yet? I still haven't had time to install mine .. and to be honest I think I am putting the install of my exhaust before I contemplate working on the this light. Even though I received the package back on Tuesday . .I just have not been able to make the time (part of that is I do not want to lay on a cold garage floor at 10pm at night trying to get this installed .. lol)

I too would prefer to have both functions.. if you could help guide me through that process, I would much appreciate it and in fact .. would even buy you a Cohiba or if you prefer flavor over just a big name then perhaps a Padilla Miami, the next time you make it out to Ybor! LOL

It took me longer to remove the old light than it did to do my exhaust! I hope you have better luck with yours:ugh2:

Looks like xwchriswx has done exactly what you're looking for, so when he posts his DIY the cigar will have to go to him:icon17:. Although I'd take the Padilla over the cohiba anyday:tup:

Still waiting on Chris's DIY .. lol

Same here. I got the slip in the mail yesterday that the package is ready for pickup at the post office:excited:

A couple questions for you guys who have them installed already:

The shrink tube included doesn't look like it will fit over the splice connectors. Any issues with this?

What is the hole for in the back of the light (above where the wires go through the housing) for? Should I worry about moisture getting in there (there's go to be some spray from the rear wheels directed at this area of the rear valance).

I plan to do a partial install tomorrow (painting my valance black first). I may not get to the wiring for another week unfortunately.

professordave- (slighty off topic but....) you're not painting your valance in cold weather are you? need at least 75F to get good adhesion...

I have a space heater I can bring into the garage which should work if I let it run a bit before I start spraying :ugh2: I hope.
