Roadster's seats on coupe.
Hey guys, I don't know about you, but I think the coupe's seats are ugly and kinda fat looking vs the "pointy" sportier look on the roadster's.
So I've been searching info on getting the roadster's seats swapped on to a coupe (nismo), but there's just nothing out there, maybe someone here could shed some light on this. Do you think they will bolt right in? Where could we get them? Do roadster's seats have airbags? if so, will they still work? Being that aftermarket seats range from 1200-4000 each, plus rails or custom work to get them properly installed I thought maybe this could be a viable alternative. Like I said, IMO they look better than the coupe's and if they fit and I can get them for a fraction of the cost of recaro/bride/sparco I would be just as happy. Also aftermarket seats tend to be lower and I'm 5'7'' so I can barely see out the car as is lol. Picture this: roadster's power seats reupholstered w/ black leather, red stitching and the nismo logo to match the rest of the interior  I have no idea how much the seats run for since I can't find any for sale (already emailed courtesy parts for a price and part number but I'm expecting a high number). And I know this would only be a smart thing to do if the cost is way less that going aftermarket. Anyway, what do you think? Ron. http://i52.tinypic.com/bhkb2u.png |
looks interesting....I think i would like it.
I had no idea they were different... anyone have more pictures of the roadster seats?
I wonder if they are more or less comfortable... heavier or lighter? Come to think of it, why are they different  |
looks like the shoulder part extends all the way to the top of the headrest, besides that looks the same to me.
Interesting that they would be different. Hmmmm. I like the roadsters look better. Roadster FTW
But is that particular to the roadster or is it just the way the leather seats are designed? I could swear I've seen pics of the roadster with the same seats...
See -- aren't those the same or am I crazy? http://i680.photobucket.com/albums/v...t/IMG_0021.jpg Anyone have pics of the leather seats handy? |
No wait -- I guess they are different...
http://www.the370z.com/parts-sale-pr...rt-rotors.html Hmm. Anyone got more pics of those roadster seats? I like them better too... |
I was at a dealer last weekend and it occurred to me. I think all leather seats on the roadster are the same.
That pic above seems like cloth seats, same as in a coupe...soo if the coupe's fit the roadster then it should be the other way around too :) |
red stitching (that's as far as my ms paint skills go, u get the idea ;) )

Roadster seats have heated and cooled ventilated functions, this leads me to believe they are probably a fair amount heavier than the base cloth seats and a bit heavier that the heated Touring package seats. They look nice though, I wonder if the heated/cooling option would work in a coupe?
Yes, I think hardware is self-contained so they include the fan and heater on the back of the seat. I don't know about the wiring needed to make them work though. Also that hardware can always be removed if its not gonna be used, that should lighten them up. (I honestly couldn't care less about ventilated seats, I just love the way these look)...Now, if I could find a wrecked roadster...

I had to look to see if I had a picture. It has been so long since I have seen it. Here is mine.

I have been watching for a set to come up for sale. I would love to have the cooling feature. I haven't seen any. Buying OEM from a dealership is going to be way more than after market seats.
Living in AZ I would like these. What's the OEM pricing?
Don't know yet. Once courtesy parts gets back to me I'll let u guys know. However I agree with Clemson, its gonna be expensive getting them from a dealer.
i think the main difference is the headrest section
I was thinking about this when I was browsing the brochure. The seats do look a little more sporty and having a little ventilation when getting into a hot car might be nice. :) I wonder what the wine seats would look like in a black Z.
That would probably look great, although I think that whatever that mesh center inserts are in the Roadster seats both looks and feels cheaper than the suede inserts on the Touring seats in my opinion.
Yeah they don't look as good but that mesh material is there to allow for better airflow since the seats are vented.
looks good!
Putting vert seats into the coupe would be a nice detail.
Should prob try a junk yard jus in case there's a totaled z or try ebay they might have a deal
anyone done it yet?
Ron, if you get new seats I want your Nismo ones!
Alrighty.. but I have no idea where to get vert seats... I've looked and nothing. I never heard back from Courtesy Parts either.

Bumping this old thread to see if anyone has done this. Living in Texas I am really disappointed Nissan elected to heat the touring seats instead of cool them.
i still want them
It's been 4 years, I was hoping you already had them and could tell me how to do it!
haha yeah its a back burner project lol
i now know gtr seats fit in a 350z tho gives me hope
i noticed the roadster seats looked waaaaay better a few months back. Been looking for them since them. Can't find them at all. Looked on coparts but all they have are the ugly light tan ones. I want the wine color vert seats bad for my PW coupe. Still no one has done it yet huh?
I've been thinking about doing this lately (side project, no rush). So I googled it and bam! This thread pops up. So has anyone done this yet? I keep looking at junkyards to get the used seats.
