Default Rear Fog Light Install Observation

Looking at 370Zwolfs's profile pictures, I noticed that he has a JDM Z (factory installed rear fog light) and his car is a left side drive (like USA). Thats the switch we need for our fog light mod for it to me plug and play. At Courtesy parts nissan they sell this setup but with a rt side drive style switch(lights and wipers backwards). Does anyone know were we can get that switch? (Left side drive with the fog light switch).

I called a Canadian dealer. They have it, but for $400.

With the setup from the Z store, you have to run new wiring, acording to courtesy parts the car is already wired plus $169 is too much money for this (switch + harness). Courtesy sells the JDM switch and light for $195, but the levers are reversed. There is got to be somewhere online we can get the canadian switch+the light for around 200.

Anthony's on an ad spree today. LOL. But if you want a stalk like is OEM and you want it on the correct side you'll need to go Canadian.

To clear things up, sorry, we sell the JDM switch/stalk here. Not the canadian. I do not think the Canadian Z's even come with this rear fog lamp, so there would not be anything on their steering column switch that would even work.

According to all my sources, the only Z's that have the rear fog light from the get go are JDM and Euro models. (I may be wrong).

The version that you will need that has the switch for the rear fog, and keeps everything specific for the LH drive models will be from a German 370Z.

UPDATE: We are ordering in from Germany a steering column switch for testing here in the states questions, just pm me!

Yes they do. the switch is on the left side of the streering column.
your head lights have to be on for the fog light to work when you turn them on.

I have been doing some research on this, hopefully soon I will have a plug and play solution for this fog light install. Also ths the fog light indicator on the combination meter WILL light up when the fog light is on. This will be accomplished with a OEM combo switch with the levers on the correct side for the US Z model. One more thing, the JDM switch also has a switch for the rear wiper (witch US Z's dont have). Will add info to this soon

The other thing that people can take note of when installing these rear fog lights:

if you want it to act as a brake lamp, tap into your rear tail lights. if you want it to run as a running light, tap into your license plate lamps.
(if you tap into either of these, I strongly suggest changing the bulb out in the fog light to an LED so it will take less power on that fuse you're tapping into) but this is a very quick and easy solution, no switch required.

as much as i love OEMness... i could never justify paying $400 just for a switch to turn on a fog lamp. so many mods to buy before resorting to that sort of cost/benefit ratio.

The fog light power comes from the BCM, I installed a switch to trigger the BCM to trigger the light and it did not work. It seems that the BCM needs to be programmed (consult 3 can module) to trigger this light or the BCM is a different part number. Anyways I eneded up tapping into my taillights and changing the bulb to a 6 watt bulb and now the fog light is as bright as the rest of the tail lights.

Actually the OEM setup (if it worked) would be around 200, less than these switch and harnesses (when the car is pre-wired) wich cost 170+60 plus shipping.
