LED Fog/driving lights install. (Pics included.) UPDATE
3 Attachment(s)
I know many of you have asked questions about installing Fog/driving lights. I resently installed a 10in LED light bar from Ridgid Industries. Easy install. Remove bumper. Mount on metal cross bar then run the wirers. Finished. I installed the switch in the lower kick panel by the fuse box. Power is tapped into a fuse, which means the light comes on when the ACC is on in the car. Very bright, brighter than stock headlights. The light has 5 pods of LEDs. 3 pods are Fog and 2 pods are Driving.
I also installed the rear fog light, which is wired as a brake and upper LED strip wired as a Brake. I also installed other strip lights along headlights and lower bumper. Some of you may not like them, but they look much better in person. The photos make the lights "bleed". You can see each individual LED in person so it is not glaring as photos. Thoughts and opinions? |
Not too much? too many lights for me
|
I like what you did with the lights in the grille. Do you have any daylight pictures (close up) of that install?
|
Just because you can doesn't mean you should :tiphat:

:wtf2:

:ohsnap1: Glad you like it! Too much going on for me though :ugh2:

In the second pic, whats that light on the side. Is it a reflection or a light on the body of the car??? If you like it thats all that matters, but your hovering on the border of RICE!!!!

I can't imagine how your Christmas lights look on your house.

I kinda like it actually

The two things I really dislike are the rear "fog" light and whatever the LED strip is in between the rear quarter and the hatch. The rest is too much but if it is actually functional, is not that bad. If anything, there are a few good ideas and alternatives to say the rear OEM fog light but I wouldn't say I like the execution.

replace the lights in the rear window with this bad boy:

How about underbody lights, while you're at it?

If Santa was forced to move to FL he'd have to drive something! ;) OK, no more teasing! If he's into lights than good for him! Just watch out for the police. Some states give tickets for that amount of lighting! |
Ok guys. I almost agree with alot of your comments about the LED strip lights. However, like I have said before it looks alot better in person. They just look plain glaring in photos. Not near as bright in person. Try taking a picture of LEDs with your camera and you will see what I mean.
I originally started this thread to show you the Fog/driving light in the center of the grill. Its is just a very easy, extremly functional alternative to cutting or mounting lights on the front of your Z. I will take a few more photos of only the LED light bar in the grill both on and off. I think most should agree on the clean, functional look of this light. |
Like just the front grill lights, please post more pics & info to how this was done thxs.

Here are some day time photos of the Fog/driving lights. Both on and off as promised. As you can see, the lights are much less intense then in the night time photos. Not glaring and bleeding. Both Fog lights and LED strips. I am including a photo of the brake lights to show the difference also in intensity.

You successfully managed to put over 100 lights on your Z not including what it already comes with. I thought I had done a bang up job with 54.....good job!

What did you mount the light bar to?

almost as bad as those 4x4 trucks that have to have every single light on when driving at night, even when there is no fog. a bit of an overkill IMO
