I took my car to a shop to check on having the door handles painted body color. After the owner looked at them he told me if they were in

I took my car to a shop to check on having the door handles painted body color. After the owner looked at them he told me if they were in fact chrome it would be difficult to keep the paint on without problems. Chrome apparently isn't the best thing to paint.

I've also thought about powder coating them in satin black. Either way you would have to take them off the car to do it right.

A plater can strip the chrome and get it ready for painting/powdercoating.
