bluz34 has gone through about 8 of these lips. make sure you really fasten them on there

I was looking into this splitter but decided against it after hearing they fly off.
And they are supposed to help with downforce? :P

Are you guys joking? Put some freaking screws in it and it will never fly off. If someone has gone through 8 of them, either you're lying or he's a complete retard.

there was some slight exaggeration on my part. i believe the actual number is 3 or 4. One of them was from a shop accidently hitting it, however the others flew off from highway driving.

How many extra screws did you use and where did you use them?

I'm thinking about getting the splitter, but I also notice that you have a DIY for lowering springs.. so, is that the splitter with stock height? or did you already lower the car.. cause I think it would look alot better if it was dropped on swift with this splitter :D

A buddy of mine has one on for well over a year. Installed by a body shop I referred him to. They have some type of glue and screws. It isn't going anywhere at any point. It's all about the install , this lip looks good in certain applications. I don't think it would go with my pw but looks great on blue/red/silver.

:iagree:

If you put some VHB tape and reinforce it with some extra screws, the bumper will come off if pulled hard NOT the lip! All my cf stuff installs etc were done using VHB tapes. I have been asking many vendors to include the tape as well (even if the product price goes up $3-$5). Some VHB tape, extra screws and common sense , you can have the lip outlast the car! Just my :twocents:

You don't need a **** load of screws just some with more bite and girth.

TypeOne 06-15-2011 11:35 AM

In all fairness... I think I actually hit something.

It didn't just fall off...

I had it on my car for nearly 8 months and never had an issue with it. I used ALL of the hardware that Stillen sent and never had any issues... until I ran over something.

CharleyGFX,

In that picture, the car is lowered on TEIN springs. A drop with Swift springs is going to look very similar.

clean looking lip
