This can be done, just pull the shifter panel off and with a volt meter determine which wire is for the illumination. This is easy by setting your dash lights at half brightness and look for voltage in the 6-8 volt range. Can be verifiyed by increasing/ decreasing the brightness and the voltage should rise/ or fall too. No splice into this wire and run to the S mode switch and plug into the back. You may need a small wire terminal availible at radio shack if needed. As for which pin to use you may need a schematic to find out. You'll also need the ground terminal also this can be spliced into the ground on the hazard lamp.
