Monterey Blue 370Z owners with tint - check inside
okay, I have been debating last couple weeks whether I should go with 20% or 30% tint on my monterey blue Z. All my life I went with 20% tint on all my cars. Again, all of my previous cars were silver :o. I always went for the silver with a deep tint look. Now, with this new color, I really don't know what % tint I should get. I think 20% is a bit too dark for this color. I think 30% would look really nice. Anyone has any pictures of their tinted Monterey Blue Z? It will help me make my decision. thanks.

if you don't do 20 you will get 30. like it for a month then wish you went darker
|
30 would be too light...20 is what i will do on red...
i went with 28 on the mach and wished i would have gone darker afterwards... |
Shoot, I went 15% on my GTI and 300ZX.
|
I always go 5% !

5% on my back 3 20% on the front 2 looks like pure sex

Coming from a blue S2k light tint will not do the car justice. 30% is too light go for 20% or lower. Just FYI at 30% you can see everything in the car at 10-15 ft away no problem.

20% and lower tint was just a phase for me(HS, undergrad, even graduate school). Now I just think it looks tacky and kinda ghetto. I would go with 30% all around. It will look classy and still give you all the benefits of heat block. If you don't want anyone peeking into your car than it's a different story I guess but I don't see what the big deal is.....unless of course you have stuff you don't want anyone to see

THanks for all the input.
I only have 3 days to decide now! I know 20% tint looks really good on silver cars (my last two cars were silver), black and white cars. But I am not sure if the same can be applied to Red or Blue cars. I am getting done at Shades of Gray in PA. They are really good. I would appreciate any 20% or 30% pictures of Red or Blue Z tint pictures. Here are some random tint pics from shades of gray: 40% looks so classy... I'm tempted.... http://i363.photobucket.com/albums/o...Z4coupe402.jpg http://i363.photobucket.com/albums/o...Z4coupe403.jpg GTR with 40% http://i363.photobucket.com/albums/o...rotection2.jpg http://i363.photobucket.com/albums/o...rotection3.jpg Z with 40% http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/i.../06350Z402.jpg http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/i.../06350Z403.jpg 30% http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/i...08_G37_303.jpg http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/i...08_G37_302.jpg http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x...03G35cp302.jpg http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x...03G35cp303.jpg http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/d...03350Z-303.jpg 20% looks kinda ghetto.. :wtf2: http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/i...3/08G37203.jpg http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/i...3/08G37202.jpg the more I look at 30% and 40%, the more I'm tempted to go lighter. I think I have just grown out of the darker tint Era. I think now I'm debating between 30% and 40%. I drive a Z not civic. I want my car to be classy. I don't think classy look can be achieved with darker tint. Source: http://shadesofgray1.proboards.com/i...?board=gallery |
Forty percent is absolutely spot-on!

Did you put tint on your car? |

I like 30, a bit more protection (Texas does get hot), and not the "black out" look. I will definitely be glad to see your car once it is done.

Here's Blue with 30%
