Looks nice, i like the end result. What do you have it for, back up cam? Nav? Video?

Jamaica 11-04-2010 10:21 PM

 Great job

Jeffblue 11-04-2010 10:32 PM

wow that actually looks really nice  one of the reasons i don't like the aftermarket HU's is because it seemed like they could only be placed down low, but that location looks great. you have a camera on that?

diablokev87 11-04-2010 11:00 PM

Nice, did you do that your self?

radek7633 11-04-2010 11:43 PM

Thanks guys!

so far its just a Navi, but has an extension port for AV in, so backup cam is next.

I did it with some help. The frame is plexiglass and it is wrapped in black leather (matches the dash exactly which was a nice surprise)

And I used the DIY for installing an aftermarket radio on this forum to take appart the dash to get to the cubby. =)

** gotta admit I couldnt have done it without my pops**

Looks pretty good. Buy a mac mini and stuff it in the glove box.

diablokev87 11-05-2010 07:53 AM

Cool, what did you use to mount the plexiglass to the car, and the screen to the plexiglass?

c41006 11-05-2010 09:01 AM

Looks good!

looks nice, think it would look a whole lot better if you could some how use the leather from the door that was there with the stitching down the middle

Very Nice, Awesome work,:tiphat: are you considering making anymore of these plexiglass cubby hole frames, and how much did all the work cost you supplies and time.

radek7633 12-01-2010 08:43 AM

Hi...

Supplies were about 5 dollars.
The plexi glass was from a hardware store, and the leather was from an old sofa pillow, just happened that the leather matched the dash exactly.

Time was a few hours all together. I probably wouldnt do any more of them because I would have to take out the one I have now to make sure subsequent frames have the same fitting.

Highly recommend people to try this DIY because you cant really screw anything up on the car.
