I had a consistent problem when I got my car (used 19k miles) and put the pennies in, it was fine for a few months, just had my first failure. Naturally I was balancing a pile of loose posters in one hand while trying to open the hatch with the other :/

I'll give it a few more failures before I take the pennies out and go for Nissan's fix.
nissan is willing to fix it for free i mind as well just bring it in there haha do it right the first time!

Where can I get it fixed for free? I just put 1 penny in each side of the boots and it works fine just like everyone said BUT I would rather have the correct fix as opposed to telling others that see the penny's what they are for. Also, I was $35K OTD but now I am 2 cents in the hole. I would rather have my money back with a Nissan fix....

Cool, new to the area so will have to find a local dealer. Will let everyone know what they tell me when I call.

Per the TSB, they should replace the springs with new, stronger ones.
