370z door handle swap?

Ilive2win's thread got me thinking about possibly swapping out the Z door handles for something a little more low key or flush. I've always loved the Aston Martin DB9 handles but then I noticed the GTR has the same setup.

Has anyone considered or tried a swap like this? Can anyone foresee a problem other than the shape? The angle towards the edge would probably make it impossible or difficult to do but I've never seen the handles up close or taken off the car. Perhaps they could be modified some how.

This is just something I've been thinking about. :)

just the fact that you would haev to carve into your door, then make the rest of it flush...

This is a $3k+ plus job btw... We have discussed this on the board before. Your better off shaving your doors... I am sponsored and it was still going to cost me close to $2k the parts are not cheap...

yowza. 3k for door handles is nuts. Thanks for the info.

As for carving into the door, thats a given. ;)

Might as well save the 3k, and leave them alone.

The same logic could be used for any number of mods. It's definitely not something I'd do to a daily driver. I just love those handles. :)

It would be a great mod! I really wanted to do it but decided not to in the end. To make it fit right you would bring it further frontward into the door so you don't have to worry about it. Now you need to smooth it out and make it look oem that's labor intensive. It can definitely be done and done well even for daily use but it's an investment.

glad to get you thinking haha. i actually looked into that as well and i guess would have been very very hard to do and very expensive as stated above. its a whole lot easier to just shave the handles if you are going to do anything at all. try the new handles though. you will be the only one that has tried it

If I get a really great deal on the Z when it comes time then I'll consider it. Still, your shaved handles look great. Might go that route. :)

thank you sir!
