Taillight Install Question?

Hey Guys, I am looking into the JDM taillights and looked at the DIY for the removal of these. But my question is, do you really have to take off

Hey Guys, I am looking into the JDM taillights and looked at the DIY for the removal of these. But my question is, do you really have to take off all those panels just to remove the stock lights and swap with the JDM? From the DIY pics, it looks like you do in order to wire the fog lamp, but if I am just swapping out and back in, cant I just remove the bolts, pull the lights forward, unclip the harness and then plug into the new lights and pop back in? Just want to know what im getting myself into before i order. Any info helps, thanks.
