As anyone installed or thought about installing hood vents in the stock hood? Are there any concerns that should be noted? Like water on a hot engine?

i retrofitted GTR scoops on my hood before water wasnt a concern because it didnt go anywhere near the intake... the hot motor actually was able to cool off faster because it had a extraction vent...

i made a template of the size needed to be cut on the hood then i flipped it for the other side so it would be even then i used a air die grinder with a cut off wheel... took me about an hour to cut open the hood like that

Looks great. Water on the engine isn't a big deal. If you look at the Lotus Exige, there is only a mesh screen cover the engine...it's completely exposed to the elements. I'd love to do this to mine but I don't have the cojones to cut my hood.
