Thread revival.. Thinking about doing this but my main concern is, will the heat from cutting through the hood damage the paint and cause it to start peeling or cracking?

Thinking about doing this but my main concern is, will the heat from cutting through the hood damage the paint and cause it to start peeling or cracking? Also - which gtr hood scoops did you purchase. eBay has one selling less than 200$
