The knob works fine because the mechanism to push in is actually on the top of the metal stalk, even though the OEM button is on the front.

I'll post some pics later, unfortunately my dog got sprayed by a skunk this morning so I'm a bit busy...

Doh, sorry for your dog!

Can't wait to see installed pics. I think you should start a new thread about it when you do, since a lot of us 7AT guys have been interested in a replacement knob.
