unfortunatly Dreamer the RHD bar that i got from Baker Tuning is not reversible, thats why i was suggesting people get this bar if they are thinking of any of them because this is the one that will let you get a harness behind the driver. The one i have when you flip it , the eye bolts for the harness are now facing up. Its something to do with the way the bar bolts in on the end. I did a writeup on it a while ago. Im thinking of either selling the one i have to someone who wants it for show then buying this one or just throwing in a roll bar.

If installed properly and correct harness setup, it is perfectly safe.

Looks hot.
Where does this bar mount? Not to be a downer but if it's rather low in relation to your shoulders it may not be ideal. Too low and you could have spine compression in an accident. Here is the SFI Belt Mounting Guide from the Sparco site.

It replaces the stock bar that runs behind the seats.

It's actually not as expensive as I thought it would be. Still too much for me though.
I agree with G fo12ce. This may not be ideal mounting position but it definitely looks nice. Still waiting on installed pics.

Those photo's makes me think maybe it's ok. Especially with the racing shell since it can be much lower in the car. On the stock seat pic it's hard to see how much recline there is.
It would be cool if who ever bought that one could come back here and measure it. I'm sure it would help the sales if it was close to the 5 degrees mentioned on the SFI guide.

That is what Takata recommends. A popular place for belts to be mounted is in between the cushions of the rear seat, and this is generally acceptable. This topic has been argued time and time again, but it's just about what seat beat manufacturer you trust I guess. Let me know if you ever hear of anyone with a compressed spine -Mike |
