If you replace the 7440 socket & bulb with a 7443 socket & bulb you can hook it up to your brake lights & tail lights at the same time.

Take the plug out of the light and go to a local junk yard and ask them if you can look around and go find newer Nissan's,Acura,Infinity's and check their brake light sockets they have 3 wires 1 brake light,1 tail light,1 ground, find one that's fits some of them are the exact same but the little tabs are a little different so you may have to be a little creative for it to stay in mine is in with more pressure than the stock one.
I work in a body shop so we have old tail lights laying around.

I'm interested in doing this as well, is it possible to buy the socket? Can you post up a pic for reference? Or a possible DIY?
Thanks

Yes you can buy the socket, but the problem with that is you can't see if it fits in the fog light.
The first pic shows the back of both sockets (JDM on left,Nissan brake light on right)

The next pic shows the top of the socket were it mounts(note the triangular shape of the JDM vs Nissan tabs)

The last pic shows the 7440 bulb that comes with the JDM light it has just the brake light filament not the tail light, the 7443 bulb has both tail light & brake light,in the pic with 3 wires on the socket 1 is the hot lead to brake light 1 is the hot lead to the tail light, and the black to ground.
When you get the 7443 bulb & socket you will need to test which wire goes to what light, just plug the bulb in the socket touch the black wire to - of the battery then take each wire ONE at a time and touch the + then try the other which ever lights up brighter is the brake light.

Hope this sheds some "light" on this for you

Frank

Awesome thanks Frank! Definitely did shed some light but I'm not comfortable enough to do this on my own, not very good with electric stuff. Probably going to have to wait for a DIY posting.

So who wants to try?
