wife's Z was hit... :(
well, on thursday my wife was running late to work in the morning cause of traffic and when she parked in her parking garage at work, she forgot to take her radio faceplate off and she also remembered she had left a few bucks cash in the center cup holder....so i picked her up for lunch and we stopped by the garage so she can take the radio face off and get the cash... low and behold, someone had left a note on her windshield apologizing for hitting and denting her bumper, there was a second note from someone who witnessed it....the lady was turning the corner in the garage and swiped the Z on the left rear bumper corner. my wife was parked right on the line to avoid a door ding from the passenger side...
it is rare nowadays for people to own up to their mistakes/accidents, much less get a second note from a witness...we were pleasantly surprised that the lady left her # so we could call her..by the time we called, the lady had already called her insurance and got a claim # for us and everthing...all we did was call Geico with the claim# and they referred us to their nearest body shop...i initially wanted to go thru the nissan dealer we bought it from, but apparently they don't have a collision center. so we went with their body shop(lifetime warranty thru body shop and geico). what we liked with the lady's insurance (Geico) was the fact that they took pictures before and during the whole thing.... here are the pictures of the vehicle... we dropped it off thursday afternoon, and it was technically ready on friday evening but we couldn't pick it up until saturday morning. sux cause we haven't even made the first car payment... http://inlinethumb03.webshots.com/45...600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb24.webshots.com/26...600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb13.webshots.com/18...600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb43.webshots.com/17...600x600Q85.jpg |
Sux, but you got hit by the right person, very rare indeed to get that note
|
exactly! and not only the note by the driver, but by a witness too!!! good to know there are still decent and honest people out there. the lady was really nice
|
At last, my faith is restored that there are still a few good people doing the right thing in this world! Glad to hear things worked out.

Were there any scratches on the bumper? If so, they spot repaired it (fraction of the cost vs new bumper and paint). There's no way they can do a full paint and pick it up the next day.
Take a very close look before you accept the repair. GL! |
there were scratches but chances are they maybe buffed out....we already picked it up and i looked at it in the sun and i looked good/matched.

Sucks you got hit but it looks very minor and should have been repaired fairly easily. As a body shop manager bumpers are routinely repaired in two days without spot repairs. You should not judge a repair shop by how fast they do the repairs. this depends on alot of factors like the type of repair, how busy they are, and the skill of the techs working on the vehicle.

Sorry about the accident, bu thanks for posting this. I've been in a "people suck" mood today, so this helped.
