That trunk release button would come in real handy. It's kinda hard to manually open the trunk with a pick and shovel under my arm and hands when I take the body out of the rear compartment.....even harder when you have to tote a chainsaw on those special dayz........

its ok, your junk hangs out of the side. you're not supposed to wear panties if you are a man. you are supposed to wear 'manties,' which are panties designed to carry some junk.

Here is another switch from japanparts.com : PARTS DATABASE
Nissan: 25381 SWITCH ASSY, TRUNK OPENER
I am guessing it is just the switch without any cable or latch release mechanism.

Wondering if I can make that a reality. I'll probably talk to AAM about it, and if I do something like that, I'll post a DIY, you can be certain.
Hey I'm not alone here with this.

I just want to fyi everyone that there is an emergency hatch release in the trunk, i will get pictures of it. i believe the general census on the forum states that there is not such a thing in our cars.

According to the service manual the rear trunk release is wired to pin 67 (color GR) of the BCM. To send a "release" signal the pin is shorted to ground.

So for implementation you would wire a momentary switch (like the SRM switch) spliced into pin 67 and the other wire to chassis ground or electrical ground.
