I'm a photographer so I offered in.focus a "sponsorship" kinda deal where I'll take product photography for merch and such. Long story short I don't like how high the shift knob is. Not their fault but still debating on if I want a short throw or not. Anyway after taking off the stock knob I noticed there's a black spacer (not sure if it comes off) but I don't like how high it makes the knob sit. I want something as low as possible. I made this in like an hour and bored out the holes to try to clear that tapered spacer a littler more and I'm satisfied at the moment. The collet marked up the top a little which I need to re grind but for now I'm satisfied.

Because of the long thread at this forum detailing the improvements and general praise, went for the PD:JDM SS piece for Labor Day weekend with the 20% discount.
Very surprised it lands virtually on center. Camera angle kinda skewed it here. Thought it was gonna be bigger, though. Otherwise the shape does make the shifting action go a bit smoother. For some reason I sometimes can't find 4th (of all gears) on the stock piece, like I inadvertently pull a bit off to the side to not get into the gate properly. Added weight and lower height is nice, but the size is iffy for me as someone who wears large size gloves. Knowing I got the stock knob off without blowing up the transmission, it's just like wow, I can do as I please in life. |

From the first test drive I knew the shifter knob had to go. This Momo shifter was exactly what I was looking for. It matches the interior perfectly. Size and weight is really good as well. I did have to remove some metal at the collar to get a perfect fit though. It sits a little lower than the stock shifter.

GrafiXpressions FatBoy Race Spec, Roswell Grey. Weighs 1.4 pounds (635g) and is great for diminishing that notchy shifter feeling.
Color is extremely close to the silver trim around the shifter, and its available in satin black as well. Feels great in the hand and sits lower than a lot of sphere + stem knobs. Can't recommend it enough.

That rubber ring is supposed to go under the shift boot collar (not the red shift knob collar but the actual shift boot collar)... Keeps the collar up and allows you to tighten the knob and keep it centered....

I actually just received this shift knob as well and nothing came in the package with it saying about what to do with the rubber ring. So it definitely goes under the shift boot to keep it up? I also heard under the red collar to stop vibrations! I honestly have no idea about where to put it and getting ready to install the very same shift knob know and wanna make sure i do it right! Thanks
