Illuminated kick plates always on?
I don't think the Illuminated kick plates Z symbol does turns off when the door is closed.
If it's always on will it drain the battery if you don't drive your car for a month? It does only draw .5 Watts each |
not sure whether they turn off when the door is closed, but i'm pretty sure they probably turn off when the car is off for a few minutes.

I'm pretty sure they are wired into the door switch circuit.

I think you absolutely right, it does turn off like the dome light when you close the door. Oh and I finally installed my Illuminated Kickplates and I'm so Happy :happydance: I was so reluctant to do it myself, I even offered a 75 dollars on this forum to help me out but one of the member told me.... " It's so easy even the cavemen can do it" That was my motivation :rofl2: I'm not gonna let any cavemen beat me on this so I did it myself |
good job man :)

Yes, they do turn off with the dome lights when the doors are shut. You can test it if you want to. Hold one door open so the Z logo in the kick panel is illuminated. Then just push in & hold the "door trip sensor" near the door latch in the door jam for about 10 secs or until the dome lights go off and you'll see the kick panels go out as well. ;) (Your just simulating the door being shut even though its not... while keeping a kick panel visable to check)
