At first I thought I could just transfer one for the other, but then I reallized there were subtle differences. Also once you tear everything down you will find that there are clearance issues with the 6spd surround. It seems the opening on the 6 speed is slightly smaller than the 7AT, and will not fit over even once you take the indicator plate off and everything. So what I found was that I needed to remove the boot from the surround. Once I did this I just placed the boot over the indicator, lined it up and popped the original surround in place. The surround will pretty much keep the boot in place. Just thought some people might like this idea, if they wanted to stick with OEM parts. Heres are a couple pics, if anyone wants anymore of the teardown I can post those as well. Im getting a MOMO knob here in a couple of days too, so I'll post pics when I do that if someone wants

I think it looks great too.

Maybe if you trimmed the bottom some so less of it was exposed outisde the trim piece.

Either way, it's a big improvement over the cheap looking plastic gate we have now.

I don't see what you mean by trimming the bottom? Might be my old eyes but I don't see anything sticking out.

Sorry, should have been clearer. By trimming, I meant cutting off an inch or so off the bottom to make the boot shorter, and thus not so bunched-up.

It's a big improvement over what we have now, but just a little too big. I'm anxious to see what Redline can come up with. I'm in to order a boot if they can figure out the proper fit.

Gotcha, makes sense. I'm in as well if Redline comes up with one. I really want one.
