Some idiot scraped My Z, need help
Hey guys,
So my bad luck streak continues. I was parked at school the other day and when i'm done and come back i see that some idiot who can't park scraped the side of my car and just left. I took the car to body shop's around my area and they want $350 to repaint the whole front bumper. Is there any way that i can fix this myself ?, like use touchup paint etc ? |

Nope, bumper needs to be repainted in order to repair this properly. Don't you have comprehensive insurance? Might look at lowering your deductible so you don't have to fix things like this out of pocket.

Do it yourself, nope! $350.00 seems awfully cheap in price, getting a close match and blending in with the rest of the area!

$350 isn't that bad of a price for repair. that would be an awful lot of touchup paint to cover all that, and you could probably notice the difference in the touch up and original. i'd just save up the $350 and get it fixed right.

I think $350 is a very good price assuming it is a quality body shop. You can save money by sanding and priming the bumper yourself, it will save you around $100 and all it takes is some sand paper and primer.

A lot of sanding since he'd have to go down to the bare plastic where it scraped. But if you do this, make sure to use an adhesion-promoter type primer rather than regular old primer intended for use on metal.

Well, worse case scenario i could always repaint at a body shop, so is it worth a try to grit it down and then use the touch up paint that comes in the spray can form ? and put some clear coat on top of it to give it some shine. I've got no problem if the difference is minor.

professionally
dont go cheap. I have a paint guy i met at a Nissan Dealership. He does their cars and other dealers and rent a car companies. He'll dry sand, wet sand match the paint and apply a clear coat.
