Its ok, he's a domestic ricer if he thinks fog lights make his car aggressive. The LS7 underneath the hood, and knowing he'd stomp almost anything on the road just isnt enough - gotta have them fogs!

[QUOTE=MightyBobo;40103]You shouldn't be so quick to assume what anyone is driving here . At 25 years old and with an M6 F-body making almost 400 WHP OFF the juice, with all the work done to it myself, I'm fairly sure I'm the wrong person to be slinging "rice" comments at. Hey look, my Silverado has fog lamps - how aggressive! Now people know I drive HARD in the fog.

As for you, you're coming off as the typical "Domestics Rule Imports Drool" guy that I run into far too often. And better yet, one that thinks fog lights (of ALL things) are "aggressive". Non-OEM fog lights just slapped into that front grill will be right up there with the quality of this fantastic example of a Corvette:

First off grow up.

almost 400 whp off the juice...how about almost 500na rwhp on a ls2 with Livernios heads, cammed..and every other smart mod including reduction of rotational mass just a click under...500 oh and every f driveline and suspsenion and brakeing mod there is.
thats NA...then add 2 stage direct port into my Fast intakes on both GTO's . Forged pistons the whole deal. Callie.....you know the drill LS1 man.

I'm not throwing any domestic rhetoric. get off your pedalstal.... My ricey
Busa...will smoke anything on four wheel..including 800whp Vipers.+all my cars
and its barely stretched But rice....oh yes.

Reread. If you did so many things yourself. they could be placed behind the slats....or in front....black mount on black.....i guess i didn't realize ..since i have a black 370z i have a natural advantage.

Dude i customize things to look "as stock" ..not pep boys. With black mounts and a cool blue beam...it should ...SHOULD help.....the fangs don't bother black car owners.....In my opinion the front "is small " dissipointment. I got black cause everything looks better in super clean black. Also easier for a first year car to match up things....

you seem to have good taste...

anything here go 202+ mph???GPS certified....or Hwy patrol cerified.
Its good to have friends....in high places. or 205 in the Busa?

no?

relax take a valuim..

Think GN ...going fast with class.. had a Ws6 ,done it. I moved on.
your elder Z...as classy and worth it as it is....i know if it original its not much.of a threat..if its all done you've ruined the value so either way

(but it does look American bad aass)

Send me an emial i'll send you my pics. PM me....i'm not an a ss but i do want to prove a point.

appaerently i've hit i nerve . please unless you have something with 600rwhp in a 3000lbs package that can turn and brake .....i really dont give a hoot.

Just as i turned the gran prix looking GTO into a G8 GXP back in 07....using DMS front and rear spoilers and custom autoform mesh grillwork.+ real aussie 18's ....it looks stock.
untill you start it.

Rice is a look....Nismo is rice to me....and i 'd buy one in a hearbeat. It not negative.
just pm me your email and i'll show you how i make it bettter and look stock art the same time.

Yeah i like for the look....is this bad.?

I beleive in as much light as i can throw in front of me.

And i didn't really think about it as a necessity.

If in fact it is necessary... a small high output set.. can be fashioned.

Yes guys , its about the look. And you damn well know it. I have 2 japanese vehicles
and they are rice Ok maybe not the best choice of words....but if you gotta have them. "does it look tacky" becomes less important...than..."damn they throw out good beams in the fog"

Yes or No...

And of course like, i said with black car it is easier to hide mistakes . If you keep it simple....it should work well and look.... strong

i have a fog light fetish....is that bad....who here would admit there moils??? or better have the ball bearings too?

It started in the pop up lights of the 87-92 supra acting as airbrakes at high speed....Bright fogs could be substitued for headlamps in spirited confrontation at night.

C5 vette prime example and Ws6 airbrake headlamps.....did you geniuos's ever take that into consideration? i'd say .1 .2 second loss in 1/4 time...confirms this.

If it was our 370z would you rather have 13.4 or 13.2 1/4 mile times stock.
So started my love affair with fog lamps. the legal more aero way out.

** i know it does not apply to to the 370 or many modern cars.

hell you know i'm right....they did away with it in the Zo6..
So there is usually a sane reasn why soemone is drawn to a mod....plus early mornings when i worked there was fog. So even better.

And they do look damn good.....remeber there is a direct correlation for daytime running lights and people seeing you, not hitting you......gee why did Nissan put in rear fog light?????

so its a safety thing as well even during a CLEAR SUNNY day.
hence why BIkes alway have there lights hard wired on.

I happen to enjoy the look of fogs on all the time. around my parts its like an unspoken car guy thing....laugh all you want .
but if he is running fogs during the day..he's game to play.

You say you struck a nerve on me? Might want to look at your 2 lengthy posts...

My purpose of stating what I have wasn't to flex my "high horsepower phallus" - its to point out, you calling anyone a ricer on this board may not entirely be wise...or accurate for that matter.

Furthermore, "rice" is a state of mind. Not where the vehicle was manufactured. So is the ACR Viper rice, because it has a huge park-bench wing?

If you're so hot about all these "super custom" fog light setups, I want to see them. Post them up, let everyone else judge how "classy" or "aggressive" they are. If you dont know how to post, mightybobo@gmail.com - send them to me, and I will.

Thanks for the input guys. I know the car just came out, so I wouldn't expect anyone to have custom mounts yet, but just curious what people think about adding the lights. That said, this was never intended to be a rice thread, or pep boys, or whatever. I've driven a C5 Vette with PIAA 1100x mounted in place of the stock driving lights and the difference was huge. I'd just like peoples opinions as to whether it would work, or if not I'd like to hear that too, but genuine comments only please, not just generic put downs on rice...

I have removed the first set as they were to big...but i'm working on the small set.

Mind you its for looks not for real fog conditions.

Yes the Acr is Ricey...... bat mobile rice.

when i fit a correct set.. that looks as close to stock as i can get you'll be the first to
get the pics.

Like i said i have a fetish for fogs. but i don't want them shaking because they are mounted on poylemar.

You'll see them. and you WILL like them.

Sorry bout the rice it was inappropiate. mean will i'm dong the breathing mod and am in touch with cobb for a costum tune

And i do like to explain my point and if 2 posts are needed so be it. You'lll get em soon enough

Default Fog Lamps

I been searching, however haven't found anyone making the 370Z front fog lamps, the front grill definately has a spot for them. Keep me posted if you run across any..

FYI- I got a set of blue LED lights from IJDMToys
for $19 that work like a charm and look factory installed.
Check them on on their site. They also have other lights
for the interior and other locations that are worth a look-
see!! I can send you some shots if you like. Big Boys Toys
just off 495 did the instal. They were done with an on and
off switch and work either at night or during the day. They
ARE "de bomb"!! If you want some shots drop me an email
at kenhdcgov1@aol.com Also had some speed work
done as well as interior mods. More changes are in the works
for the engine area. Great car, get it soon!!

Has anyone installed aftermarket lights on their Z and if so any pictures you can share??
