Actually I just got a reg homelink dimming mirror. Not the one with the V1 display.

I just saw that V1 mirror on his site when I was researching and thought it was a clean install. Looks factory.

I'm just wondering if it is at all possible to mount the v1 unit behind the front bumper at all (stably) and wire it up to that v1 display rearview mirror.

I believe the V1 needs line of site from front to rear, otherwise you don't get rear alerts which defeat the purpose of the V1.

That HomeLink mirror with V1 display is awesome, wish I new about that before. I am using my V1 mounted under my OnStar mirror, need to raise the V1 up closure to the mirror. For electrical connection I tucked the 12v & GND wires up in the head liner by lowering it with a plastic pry tool. Then behind the curtain airbag and then to the 12V ignition on 10A fuse by clutch.
