Hey Bullit, Could you post all the info to get these mods done or maybe a number to call?

Solus 05-07-2009 10:38 AM

Timeout.. you can get them so that they aren't always red? If that be the case I need contact info to see how much to get mine blacked out then put the red thingy in there

vater 05-29-2009 01:50 PM

very nice work from Amplified. These would look sick on a Black Z. I'll definitely be looking into this mod when I get my Z. I don't know why Nissan decided to go with chrome housing rather than black housing.

still curious as to the pricing though.

Have you ever attempted this? I ask this as it is not for the faint. You will need window tools, such as nylon sticks, and cleaners to help remove the old sealant. Then you need the proper new sealant. It can all be done, but our headlight is a large unit, and not one to be experimenting on. If you have a high mechanical aptitude, then you can achieve just about all these mods, but I dissuade the first-timers, and those who aren't mechanically oriented. :)

nogoodname 06-09-2009 09:36 PM

experiment it if you can find a scrapped Z......

I've done about a dozen headlights, all RSX's. Zero moisture in all of them.

Did it for extra cash during my college days:ughdance:

I know how, I just want confimred temps and times in order to do mine when I get my 370.

thanks.

dcrew1x 09-07-2009 01:44 PM

Lou when I get back to California, I gotta have this done! :p

I just want my housing painted w/out the LEDs which should be a lot easier.

DannyGT, hope you don't mind but I'm using your awesome headlights as an example:

Not 100% sure, but if you put the LEDs on a toggle switch (on/off), you have full control then. So if you want you can just turn it on at shows or other things and no cop will ever know.

well, that would be an option, but what if cops see me while the LEDs are on?

Im wondering what would happen then.

if everythings cool then i might get them, if not, then just coloring them would be enough :ughdance:

theDreamer 04-04-2010 08:58 PM

Probably best to research your state/local laws on headlights.
I would say they must allow LEDs because Audi (plus others now) sell stock cars with LED setups, but not for primary functions of course.

XBarbarian 02-20-2012 01:58 PM

well..this may be rude to resurrect a very old thread...

but it died and seemed very little came of it.. and when I look at the headlight housing of the Z.. whether you like them or not..it seems like there are notches specifically for LEDS..

anyone else find a current source?

bullitt5897 02-20-2012 02:36 PM

You can run them through your DRL power source. this way you can turn them on/off without any switches.
