Is anyone else having a problem applying the coupon? When I first opened the link it showed a $7 discount and once inside it says to use "onlineexclusive3" for free shipping. However, I cannot find where to apply the coupon nor am I getting the $7 discount.
I have emailed Greddy but haven't received a response.

Unless you want to cut into your headlight housing to put them inside, there is no space for mounting them to point straight ahead but it is hard to tell from the pictures of those cheaper ones.
I called GReddy and the lights have shipped so hopefully I will get them before I go back to my house for the weekend (read: I don't really want to take my bumper off in the school parking lot).

Like many of you i have been waiting for someone to install it themselves and see some pictures before I tried to to add the led strip myself. Since I'm very impatient, I went ahead and installed these myself today. My pictures are cell phone pictures and I apologize and this being my first diy post, I didn't take enough pics of the installation, but I have a couple and I'll try to be as descriptive as I can.
First thing to do is take off the bumper and I followed this diy from DIGitonium. DIY: Front Bumper Removal The bumper removal instructions are clear and it was very easy to remove the bumper. I did it slowly to make sure I didn't break any clips. Next I disconnected the battery. I wanted to hook the led's to the parking light because then I have the option of turning them on or off as opposed to hooking them up to the ignition switch. So after I took the bumper off and peeled back the wheel well cover I saw the parking light. If you look closely you can see a green wire and a black/yellow wire coming out of it. At this point I started to follow a diy for these led strips for a GTR. NEW GReddy LED Daytime Running Lights - NAGTROC - The Nissan GT-R Owners Club I started off by grounding it just as he did; here's my pic of where I put the ground As you can see from the pic, I took the black wire from the led strip and attached it to a bolt just under the headlight. The next thing I had to figure out was how to isolate my green wire, which is power, from the parking light because everything is taped up and it's extremely tight in there <insert that's what she said joke> The next pic I took from Trooper's diy for the parking light led swap to show you what it looks like behind the headlight DIY: Parking Light LED Install I pulled out the lamp, by turning it counterclockwise and pulling it out. After close inspection i saw that the 2 wires coming out of the parking light are taped up, so I took the tape off, which was a pain in the a$$ because of the lack of room and put a clamp on it, so I could clamp the green wire from the parking light and the red wire from the led. The red wire that is attached to the led strip is too short to reach the parking light, so I ended up soldering a wire to give it the length I needed. It was tough to get behind the headlight and I would recommend taking off the wheel well cover just so you can have more room to work and not get frustrated. After i connected both strips to their corresponding parking light I reconnected the battery to test and it worked....yay. As I put the bumper back on it is an extremely tight fit in the led strip/bumper area. It fits, but you have to squeeze it in, so I used some painter's tape to protect the bumper and led's and peeled it off after installation. Then I put everything back and here are some pics of the finished product. Let me know if you want more pictures and of what angles and such and i'll post them up and i'll make sure to take them with a proper camera as well. Thanks to everyone's help and diy's that I used, it came in handy. I'm looking forward to see how some of you install it yourselves so I can compare it to my install. |

Nice!!
You should copy your post in the DIY section. Nicely done. How bright are they in the daylight? Would you really call them DRL?
