need your opinions POLL on interior

so ive already began my journey into switching out pieces in my interior and having them upholstered with a cf look fabric with red stitching... now its time to do door panel inserts and my chairs...now i had an idea what do you guys think if i do it in all red just like the 40th anniv interior... ive always loved that interior but im scared its gonna be overkill cuz i have a red car.... :( tell me what u guys think

soooo

A) black with red stitching on chairs and door panels

B) red on chairs and door panels...

any feed back will be appriciated :D

put a poll up?

i'm thinking A.

ZeeCar 08-26-2010 05:41 PM

A

All black with red stiching would look great.

OMGWTFBBQ 08-26-2010 05:43 PM

A.

I'd prefer a more subtle look as opposed to an "in your face" kind of thing.

thanks guys!!! i also think itll age well with the car instead of a red interior i think ill outgrow the red theme....

Slynky 08-26-2010 08:48 PM

Yep, although at my age you probably don't want agreement, I'd have to say majorly black with red stitching/highlights. I think it would say "subtle yet classy".

its also good im going black that way... all i have to upolster is my door panels and then ill just get the clazzio seat covers with red stitching... it would have cost me $800 to have my seats wrapped... phew!!! that would have sucked lol

My M3 had Imola red leather, it was pretty awesome:

Added a nice color pop on a sort of monochromatic colored car. You car is red so I'm not sure. I've seen some red on red M3's and they look good as well.

A problem could be getting the red to go together. Another problem with red die on some fabrics is sun bleaching so you have to be carful of fading. It's a problem I saw on certain seats when I worked at Sparco. Thier stuff was pretty good but other brands that used cheap fabric in cars that had no tint and/or were parked outside had issues. If you do decide to go all red get something that's made well.

Another option I think would look good is black with red stitching and red on the center cushion (of the back rest and maybe butt rest). Something like this but red where the grey is:

option A.... !

Jeffblue 08-27-2010 07:16 AM

i think black with white stitching would be cool. black red and white are an awesome combo.

I would go black with thick red stitching.

Question, did you find anyone that would do that for you?

Also, I think you should keep the actual leather and just redo the stitching. It would look great.

my stock seats are cloth :( im only a base thats why....

I think they usually refer to that as "Baseball" stitch. Remeber if you go red to get an automotive grade fabric.
