Possible Mirror Solution or Customizable?
1 Attachment(s)
Has anyone actually taken apart a side mirror either 350z, G35, G37, or 370z?
Removing actual mirror (movable) piece from window mount? I personally would try but I believe there are alot more technical inclined people on these forums.... Here is just an idea possibly? removing the upper (movable) mirror portion and replacing it with either a G35 or 350 that way you still can keep the motor functionability? or bolt in craft square style rectangular mirrors which looked pretty nice when they are attached directly instead of on the bendable cable bracket. Attached is a photoshop of removing top from bottom. Maybe if someone that owns both a 350z and 370z could get measurements to see if the length of the base are transferable versus the whole mirror since the bracket is cut differently. Thanks.. |
or raise your seat a little bit if you're having problems looking over the mirror during your left turn. these japanicans could not build a car to fit his fellow j-arse. thanks to modshack's recommendation i tried below and worked perfectly.
get 2 longer M10X1.25pitch screws and spacer/washers to raise the backside of the seat. you can find this screw size at most AceHardware. Just get a 50mm length if you're unsure cause it will be plently long. -first loosen (no need to remove) the 2 front bolts mounting the seat rails to the floor. there's black caps on them that can be pried off with a thin screw driver or pick tool. -side seat all the way to the front. -remove the rear 2 bolts mounting the seat rail to the floor. -place new spacers/washers between the seat rails and floor. -place your new bolts and tighten to 36lbs/ft. -tighten front 2 bolts to 36lbs/ft. -adjust the seat adjuster to get the seat cousion to an angle you like -take a quick test drive. -re-torque all 4 bolts 36lbs/ft when you get home. done. im not super short or anything but i have long legs, short body... not a typical japanese. |
I'm only 5"7 and I don't have any problem. What's up with all the " can't see ****" thread lolz

Its not about sitting up in the car and seeing over the mirror...my seat is back head is close to Pillar and I have proper control...but when I'm driving on post we have alot of 4 way stop signs and pedestrian crossing....and it just sucks to see a big a** mirror when looking to turn or give right of way....I'm 5'6 btw....

i like to sit back and relax when im motoring so im not in a very aggressive or upright seating position to begin with. hope you find ur mirror.
i was looking at some craftsquare ones but ive decided to keep mine stock since it's no longer an issue for me. :p |
I hate the OEM Z mirrors but there hasn't been a whisper from craftsquare about new mirrors.

Not all Craftsquare mirrors have the little metal arm.
