I damaged her argh.

So yeah It finally happened I damaged my Z :shakes head:.

I was trying to park next to my parents's GT-R and moved between a buss stop and those bike parking poles( I don't know the real term).

Problem was I didn't noticed there were two behind eachoter so I was only watching the second one and since they are so low I couldn't see the first one.

Turning right to get my arse next to the GT-R grind crack. the right front wheel arch has this long line like dent and right side of the bumper is the same. Also that pointy part where the bumper and wheel arch meet is all broken and there is a large gap between the bumper and headlight now.

I was wondering does anybody have any idea how much a new front bumper and front wheelarch + painting is going to cost.

I was planning to go to the track end this month if the weather cleared up but I will probably need to spend my track day budget and more on this. :shakes head:

I will post pics when its light out here again

So you drove between a bus stop and a bike rack?

There was plenty of room between the two off them but I didn't see the closest one because they are so low that I cant see it it was the turning that did it.

Yes It was stupid but people do stupid things once in a while.

When you say wheel arch, do you mean the fender or fender liner?

Rough shitty paint creation.

the red is the area damaged.

nogoodname 08-15-2010 04:50 PM

Yeah, that's the fender. Fixing the fender, repairing the bumper and painting. I would guess 600-800 dollars.

Vegitto-kun 08-15-2010 04:53 PM

well the fender probably is going to be a new one. I already had a friend who works on cars check it out. He said that it is going to be hard to repair it and that most likely you will always see it since its not a normal dent they can just fix.

bumper has that lined dent too. Don't know if they might be able to fix it since a part actually broke off.

It is going to be expensive anyway

Get the stillen front bumper if you are going to replace it. :)

Ask Tony... he knows exactly how much this will cost.

impossible. since if I want the insurance to cover the costs of this accident I will need to bring in a statement from the dealership so I cant just go to the insurance and give them the price for a stillen bumper or amuse bumper.

Even so I am not a big fan of the stillen bumper to be honest.

nogoodname 08-15-2010 04:59 PM

Tony is the in house expert...lol

kenchan 08-15-2010 06:20 PM

Sorry to hear, veggito. :( hope you get it fixed asap!

And yah, most places will just replace the fender than repair it cause it's more cost effective. :)
