attempt for nissan repaint
Wrote nissan after being turned away by dealer. nissan told me to go back to that dealer and ask them to take pics of chips and very fine scratches. not looking good but well see... dealer says they have to order a paint guage and if its below what it should be will repaint. but is the problem thin layer of paint or something else the way they have issues?

Based on my 6 months experience with this car, I would have to say the clear coat is absolutely thin which exposes the base to just about everything. I had the same problem on my 05 sentra. Good luck with the paint claim though!

The paint on these cars is just terrible. In all honesty, the paint on my 2003 Mustang GT was at least 10x better quality than this crap. My sister has a 2002 Mustang with around 120k on it and the paint on that car is in better shape than mine! :rofl2:
Maybe you'll get lucky and they'll pay to have it repainted... but then you have to cross your fingers that you are getting a quality job done. |
Water based eco friendly paint on a low sitting car = Paint chips and

I agree the clear coats don't cut it. My car is well maintained with Meguiers NXT and a layer of carnuba over that. It is also garaged. A daily driver, it does sit outside during the day at work. The clear coat has bad acid rain etchings in it, that are hard to buff out even with the Porter cable and a good polish. My old Lexus SC300 never had this issue with the clear coat :shakes head:
