plastic front- very soft

on the way to my holidays in italy i had a unpleasent situation on the highway. a truck driving in front of me lost some metal part which hit my front. it was just a small thing but i could hear the loud noise when this part hit the car. i stopped the car on the next possible parking exit and had a shock. i saw the damage in front and water running like crazy. first i was thinking this is water from the cooling system. thanks god it just was water from this container which is keeping water for screen cleaning etc, sorry i dont know the right english word for that. so in this way i realized, my cars plastic parts are very soft and it could be very easy to cause much more serious damage.

maybe anybody has an idea how to change this water container? do i need to disconnect all front of the z for this job?

thankx a lot for your advive

I think your referring to the windshield fluid container.

Yes,compare to German cars, our cars most parts are very thin, even the Aluminium doors, maybe the reasons is to reduce weight.?

Down load the service manual, you'll find it in there. Plus it will come handy in the future.

This is whats called an Accident, so there is nothing wrong with the front fascia giving way to a piece of metal at freeway speeds. just replace the washer fluid container, and replace the front fascia, and you'll be back to normal. Sorry to hear about this.

thank you dad.

i check these documents already but couldnt find any information about how to change this part

If you follow the instructions on the bumper removal? you will be able to replace the washer container from that point. go to the link

Hey, see if anybody close to you has put on a Injen CAI, as it comes with a new washer bottle, so that their air filter will fit. They should have their stock one laying around (like me) or use the excuse to buy an Injen CAI yourself.

That's some good advise and the perfect reason to get the upgraded air intake...

Thank you for your kind advice. Problem here in Europe, this car is not very common looks like. I just saw one on the highway within the last monthes.

With the Nissan Dealers the same. i dont have one which is close and because the car is really rare they dont have a lot of experience with this model.

I remember the time back 15 years ago when i had a 300zx TT.very hard to find real specialist for this car because the main market for this model isnt europe. Dealers are not very helpful with anything you ask them.
