It exists! Looks just like that. I think. I wasn't *cough* serious on a buy or anything now... :rofl2: |
Now in order to avoid sounding prejudice... the majority of ricer's I see actually are Japanese cars. Hondas to be exact. The reason you may say is because of the owners. Everyone who modifies a Honda is clearly a stupid kid who thinks his car looks good that way....
The reality is he cannot afford a nice car to modify so he does RICE (race inspired cosmetic enhancement). After his car has been riced out (fart can including) he's going to find out sooner or later that when people point his car they aren't admiring it or thinking it's awesome; they're laughing at it. Hopefully that gives him the mod bug IN A GOOD WAY and he drops the heap or even returns it to stock so he can start saving up and learning about really modifying a car. The fact is that ricer's aren't strictly Japanese, it's that older Japanese cars (not just Honda's) are pretty cheap, not to mention the subject of the original fast and furious. And to be honest nowadays I'm seeing riced out versions of the new edge mustangs (mid-late 90's), and other cars that are cheaper to buy than they used to be. Simply put, ricers (in majority) are older cars that kids get for cheap and since they cannot afford mods/lack mechanical ability they cannot build a decent car. Thus, ricers. |
my definition of rice- over the top cosmetic only mods that make a car look ridiculous/annoying to look at.
a big gt wing on a 370z would be considered rice, if not justified that it is a track car and actually needs that thing. |
What about the amuse wing is this considered rice to you guys?
|
i drive a Nismo and I'm sure alot of people that see me driving it think it's a ricer. but it sure generates a hell of alot of stares so must be some of the best rice they ever tasted

You know, I really hate the fart can stigma caused by these idiot ricers. A "fart can" (AKA turbo muffler from Japan JDM yo) actually sounds good on most factory turbo cars.
For example, a fart can on a Lancer GTS (engine code 4B11): YouTube - Lancer GTS Greddy Ti-C Exhaust Sounds like ***. Not as bad as a D16 with a fart can, but still buzz-farty, bwap bwap bwap sounding. Fart can on my Evo X before replacement turbo, ported manifold (engine code 4B11T): YouTube - Evo X Invidia exhaust w/ Invidia DP/TP Yes, it's no turbo V6, but I think it sounds nice. Exhausts should not be allowed on N/A 4 bangers because it's dumb and makes them sound like ****. I wish companies would take a hit and do the entire world a favor and stop making and installing exhausts on 4 banger econoboxes. |
So if a Japanese car is "rice", what's the American counterpart? Quarter Pound Burger with Cheese? Fried Chicken?

370 in my opinion is not a ricer theres no way my opinion a ricer is any car with parts that look horrible on the car civics with big *** wings that serve no purpose is a ricer. if you have a car that runs 17s it does not need a wing on it or loud mufflers once again this is my opinion

Was at the track last Sunday and spotted this. Sometimes you don't have to say anything to tell the story. Location is everything!
