Red Light next to Map Lights

Does anyone know what the little red light next to map/dome light is for? It only comes on when the headlights are on and I just noticed it. It's next to what I assume is the chime speaker. Can't find anything about it in the owners manual.

It is just an ambient light

I wondered the same thing when I first got the car, but I very much appreciate it now.

It's just as good as a map light, reminds me of being on a submarine and you have low light conditions lol.

Has anyone done a mod of this light to change the color to anything else?

I'm fairly certain if a Z ever made it on Pimp My Ride, they would put a projector there so you could have your images IN your ride WHILE you ride y0!

It is very easy to change, and it does not require soldering skills. The resistor and LED leads are wedged into the terminals, so you can use a flat blade to push them in.

Thanks for all the quick responses. I figured it was just mood lighting and now I know.

I've never noticed this Red light you guys are talking about. Now I'm going to have to look for it when I'm in my Z again.
