Default paint problem petition?

i have been the owner of 2 370z's so far. First a platinum graphite base model and now a solid red nismo. Both cars have had an issue with the paint in the seams where the bumpers meet the rear and front quarter panels. Its worst in the back though, it appears as though the natural flex and vibration of the car has ground the body pieces together since there is almost NO gap at all. Resulting in chipped off paint and areas where the paint is "bubbling" up and being pushed out of the cracks. I would appreciate it if my fellow Z brethren could post ANY pictures u may have pertaining to this issue so i can at the very least take this thread as proof/leverage against the dealership to help any other Z owners in the area get this fixed and hopefully it will spread to other areas. personaly i find a flaw of this caliber in such an expensive car just sickening, ive done my research and there are hundreds having this problem and the car is only a year old...... what will it look like in 10 years?

Should be covered under warranty for 36K or so.

its not that they are unwilling to accept that there is a problem and fix it.... its that they are unwilling to accept that the problem is there fault, and that if you simply repaint the effected spots with the same **** paint that it will just happen AGAIN. They are giving me a very very hard time about just fixing the problem for good via ether a BETTER paint job which at this point i would gladly pay the difference for.... or to readjust the damn bumpers with some kind of shim or spacer in them so they dont rub, i mean is that to much to ask?

Reason i asked for photos is b/c THEY are, i mentioned that others were having the issue and they asked me to prove it. Also they seemed to be leaning more toward "if you prove this we will listen to you" so im pretty much attempting to make them put there money where there mouth is so this doesn't happen to every single Z owner on the island. Yes you are right Jordo, it is covered under warranty but there not fixing it, there postponing the issue so it just comes back later when the warranty is up......

just spoke with nissan service for the bigillionth time and they keep steering me toward talking to consumer affairs about it. They say that if enough people simply call them up and whine about the same problem a certain number of times that a "bulletin" is placed out to all dealerships to immediately and w/o question fix the problem on the spot under warranty after research is done to HOW to fix it. Seems to me that all people really need to do is get off rear end, stop talking to the dealership which will just give you the same answer every time, and start crying to these consumer affairs guys to fix our ****. if enough people do it, it will fix all our problems not just one persons. number is 18006477261 and they dont have an email address so i guess they haven't been introduced to the 21st century yet. worst thing that can happen is nothing, best thing is that we could all have our cars permanently and properly repaired at the dealerships expense so i would say its worth a half our of your time to make the effort.

Actually dealerships usually are happy to fix problems under warranty because they profit off it (Nissan USA reimburses them for the parts AND labor costs, so they profit off the labor). Common misconception.

dropped my car off at the dealership today and while i was speaking to the rep she continually said "realign rear bumper" which is one of the things i asked to have done.... well i casually asked the kinda rhetorical question of "and they will sand and repaint the damaged area right?" and just got a stupid *** stare followed by "it just says to realign the bumper". So after talking to the service manager of the body shop it turns out they were actually going to just realign and space the damn bumper and put it back on DAMAGED had i not said anything......... so i had to hold there hand and explain each and every thing wrong with the car and what i wanted done. i would really like to believe that the dealership is (happy) to fix issues for you but after that i have an extreme lack in faith that they can even fix things on there own without a baby sitter. shouldnt even have to deal with problems like this on a car thats a year old, let alone a dealership that squeeked 36 grand out of me to turn around and not even know how to be willing to service the car correctly.

got the car back today, they painted both front and rear bumpers and it looks great.... problem is they didnt space them any further then they were before so the ***** just going to happen again. And to be honest.... i hope it does. That way i can **** them into doing some extra nice **** to the car after wasting my time getting it painted 2-3 different times for the same DEFECT.

Just of it this way, you'll never have to spend the money on a clearbra cause by the time you get any rock chips the bumpers are going to be painted again.
