use the DIY above...

wet sand it thoroughly with 400 grit..... after u wet sand it with 400grit you will have to prop the handle open a lil so you can shoot the inside of the handle... so that when u open the handle its black inside and not silver... dont forget to sand in there also... wash the door handle with a mild soap... blow it dry... and then wipe it down with prep solve... shoot a plastic adhesion promotor on there....let it dry... then shoot a primer sealer on it.... i recommend a 2k urethane primer... wet sand the primer sealer then blow it dry once again.... wipe it with prep solve once again... shoot the black color on the handles or wat ever color ur going to paint the handles... DONT FORGET to leave the handles propped open so ull get the paint everywhere.... not just the outside but the inside as well... let the base coat dry then shoot a clear coat on there for protection..... depending on what finish you want... i highly recommend shooting clear on the handles.... reason being is that it goes through a beating everytime u open ur door handle... ur nails hands clothes etc.. etc... can easily scratch the paint if its not clear coated... even when its clear coated it can still chip and get scratched... but it takes more of a beating rather than just paint with no clear.... there is clear that are available in satin and even flat finishes you just have to check your local automotive paint stores if they have it..... i think i covered everything... remember... painting the handles isnt the more important part... prepping the pieces ur going to paint is the most important part in any painting job take ur time and have fun bro... weekend project!!! ahah

you can use rubbing alcohol as prep solvent.

for wet sanding, if the part is small i would just do it under a running faucet in my wash basin. the purpose for wetsanding is to prevent crap from buidling up in the sand paper so that you get a consistent sanding surface. i add a dab of soap at times.

but the door handles are already painted. you shouldn't have to sand anything and just wipe it down, spray your paint.
