Password:JDM Intake Manifold Cover.

Did anyone notice this? Looks like something new from Password:JDM

Password:JDM Dry Carbon Fiber Intake Manifold Cover 09+ Nissan 370z | Password JDM

Only problem is that i'm not sure where it goes? If its the engine cover it looks like only half of it? IDK

I love Password JDM stuff. I'm not exactly sure if its a placeholder image of a DE cover, or its a DE like cover that fits the VHR.

That looks like the engine cover for a 350z.

JB-370z 07-19-2010 09:15 PM

That is forsure a 350z cover. They have a mix up, I am sure they will change it soon. My guess is that everything but the picture is correct.

Clue other than price. "We have used a fade resistant resin during the manufacturing process...". In dry carbon, the resins are already in the CF. Marketing bullcrap.

Example of real dry carbon: Esprit Dry Carbon Wing for Nissan GT-R Released – GT Wing 262 | Nissan GT-R News - GTRBlog.com

275,100 yen = $2958 U.S. Dollars (currently).

You're comparing a wing to an engine cover, which are two totally different items. Even a regular CF wing goes upwards of $1500.

The cover in question has already been pointed out as being the wrong posting. PW JDM uses real dry carbon in their products marked as being dry carbon. If you ever saw the piece up close you would know this. Also their cooling panels and access panels (the dry carbon ones) are not overlays.

That's definitely a first for me. I've just seen so many places claim to have cold (dry) carbon and it's the same old overlay stuff. I stand corrected and retract my statement.

Yep, I noticed this originally because I followed them on Facebook.. seems they've removed their facebook post about this and now replaced it with the same image saying its for 03-08 350Z

Also that link on their site is changed now too...

Oh well, no password:jdm engine cover for us..

kenchan 07-20-2010 09:57 AM

it would be nice if they can make a intake box replacement in CF, but then again im not sure how well it separates heat soak using thin CF...
