Default Any suggestion on Radar Detectors?

Well, I had a cop radar for a while but I found that out it wasn't the best one. So I did some minor research and comes out that best cop radars are either one of the following:

1) Beltronics STi Driver Radar Detector
2) Escort Passport 9500ix
3) Valentine 1

...

STi driver will cost me around $400... now is this worth it?

V1 is tops in my mind, if you want to give up some creature comfort for actual utility.

What I mean is, the V1 has the most useful tool in identifying radar...the directional arrows. At first glance, they might seem useless but they are incredibly helpful. They let you know when a cop has passed (or you've passed him). They let you know when one is coming up behind you vs. one that is coming up in front. It's crazy how useful they are.

What you give up, in my opinion, is probably one of the best features of the Escort... the GPS ignore feature. If you pass the same false alarms every day, you can configure the device to ignore those alarms automatically based on GPS location. That would be really helpful, as I pass the same 2-3 false alarms every day (Military base).

No problem, but for what it's worth, asking people to choose between the V1 and the Escort is like asking people which oil is better, if they prefer coke or pepsi, or to choose between blonds and brunettes. Either one is just fine, and pays for itself saving you from one ticket.

Technically the only place to buy the V1 is from their website, which I have done so.
The website is old because they keep it simple, technical info here, buy here, support here. Not saying it could do with some updates, but they let their product speak for itself rather than the website.
This does not mean I am putting down others, I would love to have that GPS features.

Whichever saves you more money. In case you can't tell by looking at the V1 itself, they aren't interested in updating outdated appearances.

Yes, that is their site, not much of a looker but it does its job in providing the info and ordering the V1.
